Two of my favorite posters and I haven't seen them around here in a while. I don't claim to be skilled at searching on this forum, but the last post I can find is from September 2017 for oreville and March 2018 for roadrunner.
Maybe someone has seen oreville at Parsipanny -- I haven't gone in some time.
Anyway, I don't post as much either, but I do miss these guys. Roadrunner's in-depth comments on seated series was always worth reading. I would love to see what he thinks of Perfection's seated half set, for instance, or on Mr. Hansen's collection in the relevant series.

Agree - still waiting on the verdict on Oreville's US Mint doorbell.
I have missed Roadrunners very informative posts... always a pleasure to read and I have learned a lot from his inputs. I do hope he returns soon.... Cheers, RickO
Oreville is a numismatic patrician, forever curious and a wonderful mentor/fellow. Hope he's OK.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
One has to really wonder when a long time active member suddenly stops posting. I have to assume they were banned, lost interest in collecting, they're seriously ill, or they died. We're mostly an older bunch here so I assume the last two options are the most likely.

I think If it were a serious illness or worse, as respected as they are, I think we would get informed by somebody that knows them.
although, there have a been a few past members(who were greatly respected on here) who all of a sudden came on stating they were liquidating due to some illness like cancer or other, then passed very shortly after?
Orville has a small stroke a while ago. Last I heard he was okay. He possibly just had to slow down.
I saw Oreville last week. He is at work and otherwise recovering nicely. I'm sure your good wishes are appreciated.
I have no substantive information on the whereabouts or well-being of either of these two posters, but I will add my voice to those who miss their quality, knowledgeable, and inciteful posts. I wish them both well, whatever the reason they stopped posting here, and hope that they are doing well. We could use more posters like them.

I met Roadrunner at the Mansfield, CT show back in March, he seemed to have a lot of varied interests and didn’t seem as focused on this hobby as he might have been in the past. Great guy though, I was very happy to finally put a face to the username.

I too enjoy their posts and hope they return soon.
Just a thought. Maybe some form of a 'Buddy System" could be instituted among groups of 3 posters who "check in" on via phone call or some other means, the "lost" over time posters. Kind of how the elderly check in on each other from time to time.
I agree - as for roadrunner, his inciteful and insightful posts are descriptive, for some reason!

I am normally mostly MIA from January to April 15th because of my tax season as a CPA but this tax season, I really focused on my work and had a very good tax season.
After the tax season, we entered into a contract to sell our office building and began the process of moving our office of over 40 years to another office closer to home which I also own.
Included in the process is finally paper shredding over 150 boxes of archive file boxes of old tax returns dating back to the 1970's.
It was exhausting work.... cleaning out old file cabinets and carrying them into my extended van and driving them to various bank sponsored free shredding days.
We were quoted over $30 per box from numerous vendors to shred our papers so $150 x $30 was too much $$$ out of my coin budget when there was an option to get them done for free!!!
So not much time for posting to this coin site but I am doing well but very distracted!
@oreville I always enjoy your posts so it's great to see one from you. I hope you are soon less distracted so you can post more!

Received a US Mint bell text update today after chiding him for being away from the forum for so long - hope to hear the rest of the story one of these days!
Oh, man, Oreville. Do I sympathize with that shredding situation.
When I finally got my shredder, I had about 20 years of five legal-length file boxes each to sit, scan and shred. I came in to the office at about 5am for several months to get that done before clients started arriving.
Felt great to have 'em gone, though. No more cracks in the office ceiling from storing them in the attic!

Good to get this update! I haven't seen you since we both attended the Cardinal auction and TDN's $10M coin purchase via Laura and George. That was a cold night!
Your comment about saving on shredding so as to maximize your coin buying budget doesn't surprise me given some of our other conversations.
Now please stop by more often -- I pretty much sold my collection and just lurk around here but it is good to hear from you.

Thanks for the kind words. Didn't realize it's been almost 8 months since I was last here. The coin market for me has been basically in the doldrums since around 2012-2013...and much of that is linked the gold and silver markets. So just less interest when the whole collectible's sector is weak. I posted frequently from 2002-2011 as the markets screamed up....and much less since. From 1993-2002 collector muscle cars consumed me while coins languished.
With several hobbies going on one of them has to take a back seat. And coins got that role again a year ago. What replaced it? Drumming. Yeah, my 18 yr old nephew helped to drag me out of the bull pen and revitalized my interest. After playing for 50 years I barely touched the sticks in 2015-2017 due to constant injuries and just aging. But somehow I've been playing every day for the past year and pushed my level to beyond what I was doing in my 20's and 30's. I figure I won't get another shot at this if I don't do it now. And it's sort of fun to have an 18 year old kid to mentor.
So after 15 yrs of steady posting here, I took a long rest. Not necessarily by choice, just by events as they rolled along. I certainly haven't stopped learning. I still spend a dozen or more hours every week on the movements and directions of the precious metal and other markets. To spend more time here I'll just need a new spark. And since I failed to win the $1 BILL lottery, that option fizzled out. Several members still post questions of me via private messages and I'm happy to help any way I can. I would have responded to this thread back in July had someone given me a heads up. Shady Dave checks on me before the Willimatic, CT show each year. And just this past week CoinLieutenant reached out. He should be a CoinAdmiral by now.
Got a chuckle reading my first thread in 9 months....the Bill Jones thread. I thought he might have died too. Glad to see he was fine.
