:( didn't get my hands on it then....wishy washy all the way; hoping the price would ease a bit BUT NOOOO.....it keeps going up despite the soft spot.
I really WANT the Black Label and already tried a few reasonings in my head to justify the premium.....
What should I tell myself ?

If you want it and can afford it, just buy it.

It's a very nice piece graded for APMEX, the PL are really cool.

The Mint is making a Proof Version later this year. I would think APMEX will have some of the Proofs with the black labels.

You could always say... if I get the Proof later I'll just have to have the MS version to go with it.... :*

I understand how important it is to preserve the value by having your investments graded & slabbed but I like to feel it in my hand especially this particular one :) $1650 raw from APMEX.
Do you think the remaining stock already been picked for the quality?

YES !!! You could always call and ask, might get a good one.

I do remember trying to sell one of the Black Label pieces to a certain forum member for my cost plus shipping months ago.... :*

I've owned (and flipped) several. They are REALLY nice, and I keep thinking I need to pick one up to KEEP this time.

Love the reverse, but palladium? May be good to acquire now while prices are down if you just gotta have it. Remember your tough love thread? Soft spot, keeps going up, hmmmmm.

I'd love to have a hybrid Merc-Walker in an ounce coin. I don't trust metals right now, and not palladium, but hey whichever floats your boat. :)

Someone here probably has a 70 / 2017 first strike or whatever for cheaper than ebay or apmex. Good luck and please report back on your super cool coin :)

Edit: I know the rev. is the AIA and not a walker but close enough ;)

Yep, but I understood. It was a crazy 2-3 weeks, prices were all over the place not to mention all the label choices.

I'm very sure you'll find one that pleases your eyes... B)

Many of the coins have issues with rims. Keep a close eye out for that. If you must get one, be sure you get one that is problem free.

Several of the 70's I had had rim issues, so I guess graders overlooked that. One of them I sent in myself. Some of the palladium on the front of the rim actually flaked off in the flip, and it still graded MS70! haha

I sent one back to MCM with some issues and they sent me a much better replacement PCGS FS 70 version.
I would be careful buying a 70 without very good photos and a return policy.
As others have said, if you don’t mind a 70 with the rim damage and flakiness, it won’t matter.
I really do prefer this issue in a slab. A PCGS slab. I don’t like the NGC cheap busy label look.
PCGS, particularly with the black label, nailed it on this one.

From APMEX ? You can count on it. But I still have my doubts about their ethics from the 5 oz ATB's mess.

I prefer Provident for bullion products. They are sold out of the 2017 right now. You can ask to be notified when they are in stock https://providentmetals.com/2017-1oz-american-palladium-eagle.html
Price shop several dealers for the best deal.

To me it was the U S Coin of the Year. Don't buy for the bullion but for the beauty.

It is a beautiful coin... I just do not want Palladium...I stick to stacking gold and silver.... Cheers, RickO

APMEX has a reputation for picking out the high end bullion coins to send in for slabbing. Any raw coin that you buy is most likely one of the rejects. Your best bet is to buy one already slabbed by one of the major grading services. I like the MS69 grade because they are much less expensive that the MS70's and they look almost exactly the same. Also, if you wait for the hysteria to die down, they'll be available for much closer to bullion value. Think about how much more you'll enjoy owning this coin knowing that you didn't over pay for it. :)

Is the proof going to be one of those low mintage offerings that sell out in two minutes?

I am guessing 15,000 with no limits and a sell out in 10 minutes.
