Even if the coins aren't valuable, you'd think they would dump them on a tarp or something, just to aid in cleanup.

Well all the stuff that's flipped looks important so I'm guessing the stuff in the drum is just bulk foreign

I’m going to go out on a limb and wager that there isn’t anything in that accumulation that would interest me.

Wow, why scoop them out a little at a time, and examine them on a table when you can just dump them on the bloody carpet, and look like a couple of wankers? Makes sense...

Large collection does not mean valuable.

    Promotional nonsense.

I've done the same. That is not a collection of proof 19th century gold.

When you are trying to bag 50 or 100,000 wheat cents you just run them through a counter into a bag - or weigh them. The counter risks more damage than a trip to the carpet. Same with 100 pounds of world mix, I pour it from one container into a bag on a scale. Sometimes I dump it out on the carpet to photograph the pile for listing on eBay before I throw it on the scale.

Wow. I’m glad one of our “what is this penny worth” guys didn’t come into this.

Actually, taking photos of each coin through his telescope would keep him busy for years.

Probably used a shovel to scoop them up.

Wow....I do not know the background on this 'accumulation', but it must have been judged as 'general junk' to be treated like that. And since it was in a barrel, likely an accurate opinion. Cheers, RickO
