Is that with LED lights? Cuz mine are out. I am seeing the same lines in mine but only in certain angles and super close where the picture doesn't look as good... What way is best to view as in lights?> @jmlanzaf said:
Part of your problem is you are magnifying the coins way too much. If you need that much magnification to see the doubling, you are then likely seeing machine doubling. There is no value to machine doubling.
Do you see the magnification that @Type2 has on his photo? That is all you need to magnify the coin, no more than that.

Yours needs to look identical to the example. Yours clearly is not a DD. Yours pics are good enough to show that.

Just look at the "O" and the "N" in "ONE" on the real deal. There is clear separation of the double image, visible without crazy magnification. Yours has to look IDENTICAL to that. All doubled dies look identical because the doubling is on the die.
You don't even have strike doubling.
[Please research strike doubling vs. doubled dies.]

If you are only seeing it at certain angles and super close, you are probably looking at reflections from the surface. The 83 DDO is visible with the NAKED EYE.

What research or source material are you using to compare your coin to? If you think your coin looks like the one that @Type2 posted you should look harder and more carefully.

It is not a DDR....@Type2 has posted a clear picture so you can see the difference. Cheers, RickO
The 1983 is a no-doubter. If you aren’t sure when you look at it, or you need magnification, the answer is no.
