I have several counterstamped Eisenhower dollars that are currently stored in various ways. Some are in plastic flips, others are in snap tite holders... I'm trying to come up with the best uniform storage method. Here's the problem, when coins are counterstruck, it sometimes changes the outside dimensions. In other words, they're not all the exact same size. I'm leaning towards the plastic flips and then just standing them up in a small box. Just fishing for a better idea -

I bought two silver eagles without realizing that they are slightly bigger than your standard dollar coin, about 2.5 mm to be exact. I didn't realize until I went to put them in 2x2's made by Guardhouse. The foam would fit the coin but it would expand it so the case wouldn't close. I just took an exacto knife and trimmed the foam down on the edges so they fit nicely in the case I would recommend that! Though if you do not want to buy new cases the plastic flips do not sound like a bad idea.

A government accident left me a former man, a potato. That photo on my profile is a low resolution selfie. I like coins.

I store many of my large silver coins (not slabbed) in a coin cabinet with drawers for the coins. That way I can view them in groups with a nice background (velvet lining). I prefer that to flips or other methods. Cheers, RickO
