Seeking a new dollar series, with four issues a year for 14 years (56 coin designs total), the 'American Innovation $1 Coin Act' (H.R. 770) was introduced in the House on Jan. 31, 2017, later amended, approved by the Senate on June 20 and was passed by unanimous consent of the House on June 27.
For those hoping for a respite from the endless stream of new designs, you may be grasping at straws.

I hereby veto it.
Gross. Our money has become a joke. Sadly, the few shining stars are outdone by all the junk.
The power of inertia....
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
Great. I can’t wait to see North Carolina claim they invented powered flight.
This thread follows Innobucks from when it was H.R. 6025 in 2016, if you're interested...
American Innovation $1 Coin Act, H.R. 6025 (Now, HR 770, will likely become law)
I was going to start a collection of souvenir spoons, but I think I'll buy a new library of Whitman books and collect these. If I'm lucky, the Mint will come up will a few different finishes, mintmarks and special sets that are the only way to obtain some of these issues and I'll be able to spend the rest of my collecting life on more meaningless minutiae.
I knew it would happen.
Such a shame... sad to see the mint falling so low....Cheers, RickO
Nothing worth anything from the mint since 1964!!
