Without pics no need to ask.
As far as I know, there is only the big DD from that year (?). in that case, slight doubling on IGWT implies MD, so no value.
Edited: good to hear there are other DDs for 1955 - pls post a pic in case this is one of them.
Can't tell unless you post about 35 blurry close up pics first.
Seriously now, there is a ddo2 and 3. DDO2 is actually still fairly strong on the motto. I wouldn't mind finding one of those.

sending it out to PCGS...... see what comes back
@bestday don’t send it to PGCS unless you know what you have. Blindly sending it is just wasting money. Show us the coin so we know if it has any value over its copper value.
Always buying nice toned coins! Searching for a low grade 1873 Arrows DDO Dime and 1842-O Small Date Quarter.

It's called "having fun with coins".
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
The 1955 DDO #2 Lincoln in VF will not be a very valuable coin. I have owned several MS64's and 5's. Only valuable in those grades. Save your money for something worthy.
Found a 1943 Lincoln in the Coin * at my local Jewel store earlier in the day, AND received a 1939 Washie in change from my coffee purchase at Mc D's yesterday morning.
The later was a Cha Ching!

Not everything needs to be slabbed. If your coin is a minor DD variety from circulation you don't need to slab it to prove authenticity, so keep it proudly as a great change find.
There is the "poor man's DD" from that year.
All comments reflect the opinion of the author, even when irrefutably accurate.
The OP coin is likely not worth slabbing for numismatic value, however, as a change find and if it is indeed a 'poor man's DDO'... then it would be a keeper - I would self slab it. A picture here would certainly help.....Cheers, RickO
I thought that was just a deteriorated die? And isn't it on the 55 part of the date? Going from memory here....
