What does the image in the "G" represent?

In the PCGS logo the "G" has what appears to be a profile of someone, or is that something else?

Isn't that the liberty head?
Don't quote me on that.
The "Big G" stands for "Grading!"
That is a profile of Liberty from a coin.... Cheers, RickO

Profile of Liberty...Ok I'll go with that but, I still think it resembles a crappy map of South America.

I think it looks more like a simplified, cartoonish version of the obverse of this (with the bottom squished in to make it approximate a "G"):

Or maybe even this one:

Better late than never, I suppose...
Maybe, has anyone tried a scratch and sniff on the "G"?
Jokes aside I think it's awesome PCGS incorporated such a lovely design into their logo.
