She probably sold him a Saint.
Cool beyond words!
WOW..now that's different.
Good buys. I have a weakness for Mehl memorabilia, and such items have gotten notably harder to find during the last 5 years or so.
RMR: 'Wer, wenn ich schriee, hörte mich denn aus der Engel Ordnungen?'
CJ: 'No one!' [Ain't no angels in the coin biz]
Very cool. Love it.
What a beautiful cheque (AKA check)!
Smitten with DBLCs.
Sweet !!!
Pretty cool fonts on that card.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Very cool! I have a check like that one, along with a registered mail envelope. I always wanted to get them framed together.
B. Max Mehl in 1906 when he first got into coins. Courtesy The Numismatist.
Very Cool!
Does anyone know if the Mehl building in Fort Worth is still in use?
For less than face value??? lol
bob
I believe the Mehl building is still in use, although it has changed. There have been several write-ups about it over the years.
Fun!
U.S. Type Set
way cool i like
1933?
A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.
A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.
I recently missed out on this token and flier set but thought it was worth sharing, especially with @MarkFeld.
This is the only time I've seen the card for the token so far.
Here's the other Benjamin Maximillian Mehl thread: https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/832121/a-piece-of-history-from-b-max-mehl-numismatic-pioneer
Wow, that looks just like my son's freshman dorm room in Hollis Hall when he was at Harvard, fireplace and all.
(FWIW the incoming students are handed a paper listing former occupants of their dorm rooms. One of the prior students who had occupied my son's room was Henry David Thoreau. Inspired by same we shared with our son a hike around Walden's Pond before classes started.)

Nice. I didn't go to Harvard but I've been in Walden Pond
Perhaps this should be combined with the other Max Mehl concurrently resurrected thread.
I did not go to Harvard or Walden Pond, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.
I didn't go to Harvard, or visit Walden Pond. Or even stay at the Holiday Inn recently. But I did watch the film...Theresa May's favorite holiday movie.
Lance.
1) B. Max Mehl, Fort Worth TEXAN
2) Texas Commemorative
3) Nephew or Great Nephew(?) lives in Dallas and is a great numismatist in he's own right, MFELD ( whose helped me with some of my best coins). Only thing missing is a degree from University of Texas; Hook em' Horns
(Bias from 6th generation Texan)

I think it would be great for Mark to make a numismatist token exactly like Max's but with his name on it!
I'd be one of if not the first to buy one. Ive had the pleasure of talking with him several times (for advice) and he's the most ethical and honest person I've ever met.

And he was always most generous with offering advice here on this forum as well. I am always impressed with how many knowledgeable posters on this forum go out of their way to help respond to questions.
I have very good news for you...I did, indeed, get my degree from U.T.

I KNEW YOU ROCKED! ( besides those Hawaiian shirts)

Nice! At Random Hall down the street we had a few pictures of the hookers who used to reside there. (Oldest building owned by the 'Tute.)
That’s really an interesting item. I’ve seen a few (very few) come and go on eBay.
Thanks for sharing.
