Need help identifying a coin

EagleguyEagleguy Posts: 2,264 ✭✭✭✭✭

I'm pretty sure there was a recent coin design that had an unusually large amount of designers involved and therefore had a bunch of sets of initials on it. Probably a State/National Park Quarter or modern commemorative. Can anybody help me identify it? Thanks in advance!

Try going down the mint product schedule and checking each.

$1 WWI has LGT and DE on both sides.
$100 Preamble has JP, PH obv; PLM DE rev
$10 American Liberty "Cornrows" has JK, PH obv; CTC, MG rev.
    ... etc.
Seems like having lots of initials is relatively common?

Yup. There's a few modern commemorative/bullion coins with two sets of initials on both sides---the designer and the sculpture/engraver.

I had the same thought. The VDB was very small and most people didn't even notice them while the initials on many modern coins are far more prominent.

Yes, I find them particularly distracting when they stick them right in the fields. It's almost like the designer is more important than the design

Such an issue goes unnoticed today by most people. Unless it were to become a social issue - then it would result in a major battle, covered by MSM and on all the talk shows... even Stormy Daniels would get involved, and college campuses would run out of safe spaces.... :D:D Cheers, RickO

Thanks @yosclimber. I guess I was thinking about the $10 American Liberty. Hadn't realized more than two sets of initials was becoming more common.
