Just received yesterday. I got it to crack out for my BU Merc book, but I cant tell about the MM.

    there is a bit of a notch, on the southern edge, best seen in the second photo. I am very bad and RPMs, so this may be me wanting it to be

    Guess you have the "Discovery Coin." I'm away from my books at the moment. We'll see what others say.

    Very nice images. Suggestion. Try using fluorescent light and turn the coin in four different positions to the light so the mintmark is sideways and upside down. I think I see what you are seeing but I still don't think it is an RPM.

    Mint mark may be more well struck than repunched.

    From the pics I say it is not the RPM. Could you put up a pic showing the whole reverse. There are other pick up points for this variety.

    I just looked it up and don't need the complete reverse pic. It is not either 35-S RPM. Sorry.

    Do not despair... we all have 'seen' things on coins that turn out to be either minor, post mint induced or figments of our imagination.... That being said, if we did not look for things, there would be no discoveries... So, keep searching.... Cheers, RickO
