Looks like MD ghosting to me. The "doubling" looks too shallow to me.
JMHO based on the screen in my phone.

How can I find out more about die erosion and what to look for?
It's all around you. You see it all the time. The OP put a picture of one in the first post.
Search rolls of cents, but also nickels and dimes and you will see lots of it.
Most likely die erosion... don't really see the doubling that is being referred to?
