US coin rings

I've been meaning to share this for some time. I ordered a few rings made from walkers and could NOT be more happy. There are others doing similar items on sites like Etsy, but this is the only guy I've had first-hand experience with.

The owner, Skyler if I recall correctly, has some great YouTube videos showing the entire process. Very cool.

Here is his YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwPfVl2PwFd4RlhdcqFTTTQ?view_as=public

Each and every purchase helps to increase the value of existing coins ;)

    I do love those.
I was hoping to pick one up but then my wife got me a ring with an actual coin in it for Christmas (of '17, '18 and '19 at least she says).

    Very cool post.

I got two walkers, one with my father’s birth year, and a 1945 to remember the end of WWII.

I remember a kid banging on a coin, with a spoon, trying to make a ring back when I was in the 7th grade. That would have been 1962-1963.

I think I read that the practice started with sailors on long voyages. Sounds like a determined kid.

Often seen these hammered ones referred to as prison rings , for the obvious!

My grandfather showed me how to make one! I had a silver Washington with my birthdate also!!!! But lost it when I was a teenager. I never tried making another, you need lots of patience.

I really think I'm going to get one.

Here is mine. Born in 1954 - made from a silver Washington. I rarely wear it. I see it is toning grey. Maybe I'll give it a quick dip and put in a yellow envelope.

Many times, while I was in the Navy, I watched other sailors making these... a few were for wedding bands...others just for something to do in off hours. They did it with a spoon....Cheers, RickO
