1888 s seated dime error reverse

Small numeric 6 on reverse, below M. Anyone see similar in seated coinage? Peace Roy

    "Error" implies "made by the mint".

    In this case, with a coin that worn and beat up, you have a long row to hoe to prove that wasn't done with a punch and hammer, by weird Uncle Willy, after a few beers in 1942.

    In other words...available information says post mint damage. Might be a 6, might just be the start of a nail hole that kinda/sorta looks like a 6.

    Damaged in circulation. Not Mint made.
    Strange things happen when they leave the mint. Sometimes by chance and sometimes on purpose. This could be the latter but likely the former.
