Now is the time to catch up with my coin collection due to a car accident this morning.

TurboSnailTurboSnail Posts: 1,668 ✭✭✭✭✭

I was rear ended by another driver on the way to work today. I made a left turn and stopped before the crosswalk for some high school kids. The SUV behind me was not paying attention and pretty much destroyed my rear bumper and close to breaking my neck.

I was released from hospital not long ago. However the pain killer is starting to wear off. So I must distract myself by collecting more coins.

:D

You're gonna feel like you got hit by a truck tomorrow. Might only be able to move the computer mouse for a few days.

PS, buy my coins on E-Bay. K, tx, bye.

    Yes....and drink LOTS of water.
    LOTS.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
    Neck deals are no fun.
Mine is messed up from 3 accidents....two the fault of other drivers and one the fault of a deer.

Bad news. I was rear ended about 20 years ago. Terrible feeling. I was stopped at a light and a big truck hit me going 50 or so. It destroyed my car and damaged the 3 cars in front of me.....chain reaction! It's like getting knocked into next week!

    Get well soon.

Yes . They were screaming while jumping out of the way while my car was pushed toward them. And I am glad no one beside me was hurt.

And yes, pain killer is highly addictive. The last thing I want is to be addict to morphine again. I took those for couple months back in active duty and broke my leg by few thousands lbs of scrap metal.

You are right to be wary of Painkillers.I had 2 diff spinal injuries and I always took the min dose except at night so I could sleep and threw them away as soon as I could.Speedy recovery my friend.

Get better soon. Don’t take any settlement money for injuries until your darn sure everything is OK. I’ve seen too many people close things out only to have issues crop up later. Your health is EVERYTHING.

In most states this is your fault. Even if the other driver was being non-vigalent. Please don't text and drive! Especially in a school zone.

Who was texting and driving? And who was in school zone? In every state 9 out 10 rear-ended was fault of a driver who tailgated or reckless driving.

I called up my ex partner/legal assistance before the cop even got there. He was in DMV court 10mins away from the accident.

Yes . This is the worst timing ever since my new business , an organic food mart is in the final stage of construction after three years with lot of issues due to permits etc. I basically knocked down entire oldest night club in Long island and built it from scratch. ;)

Sorry to hear. Glad everyone made it home OK. Terrifying thing to happen. I still sometimes wake up screaming from a bad wreck 7 yrs ago. I'm surprised anybody lived we all ended up in crushed soda cans.

Glad the Hs kids are OK, too, jeez of all places to get rear ended.

Happened to me this past Monday. Fellow pulled out in front of me, I couldn't stop or move in time. It's the first time I've experience air bag deployment. But no injuries.
I will probably be selling some PM to buy another car. :(

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, but glad you will recover and the kids in the crossing are OK. Do not be in a hurry to settle, the other driver's insurance company will try to pressure you. There can be further issues not yet detected. Good luck, Cheers, RickO

Getting rear ended I was under the impression that the rear car was the one at fault not the lead car.

Not if you're driving backwards and slam into the stopped car behind you.

What about the one in ten? Also, that's a made up statistic. There are two types of statistics offered on the internet. Those that are made up and those that I offer.

That’s not being rear ended, being rear ended implies someone hit you in the rear not what you just described.

    That's what she said.

1964 must have been a bad year.

I was in a 1955 Desoto, as a passenger in the back seat, waiting to turn left across an undivided 4 lane highway due to an Army convoy traveling the other way, in New York, just over the crest of a railway bridge. Horrible design, accidents all the time due to no visibility. Short version, 1955 Chevy towing a boat comes over the crest, 0 reaction time, slams into the Desoto. I wound up in the front seat area on the floor, with a concussion, and a nice gash from the radio knob, etc., and the lower rear seat on top of the driver and myself, tossed from the back to the front. The passenger in the Chevy thrown THROUGH the windshield and down the highway. That is not his day to go, as one of the Army trucks was a field hospital operating room, and they literally opened up the truck on the shoulder of the highway, and saved his life.

What possibly lead you to believe the OP was texting and driving? They stated that they had just turned left and then stopped at a crosswalk to let pedestrians across. Had they been texting and driving, they would have more than likely hit the students because they didn't stop.
