I wonder if anyone collects....

AAFES Pogs....I know it is debatable whether they are really considered coins since they are made of paper (cardboard actually). No pennies...they round up or down whatever is closer ...5, 10 and 25 cent....Over here in Iraq, that is what you get for change....

    That's pretty interesting. I wonder if they would be considered coins or paper currency? From a grading perspective, I think they'd probably be graded like paper currency or baseball cards, not metal rounds.

    I remember pogs inside of the paper caps that used to cover milk bottles when they were delivered.

    They are like at there ninth printing series....the older one must be worth more (especially uncirculated)

    I remember POGS, I 'collected' them about 6 years ago when i was in the 5th grade. It was one of the month long fads around here.
    Want to buy an auction catalog for the William Hesslein Sale (December 2, 1926). Thanks to all those who have helped us obtain the others!!!

    I have some of them and I have considered trying to collect them but haven't yet. Did you know that the British forces in Iraq have their own series of Pogs?

    Here we are June 2018 and the Pogs are still being produced. They are now on the 16th Printing. Pogs dated from 2003 to 2017 ... No POGS dated or manufactured in 2012 thru 2016 ... for more info , PM me ... Over 497 different pogs make up a set. they are getting more difficult to find due to once they are turned in to the aafess facilities in the states, they are destroyed.

    I have seen these addressed before... and of course, pogs of different types were collected by kids for years. I have never actually had one of the military pogs... would look nice in my challenge coin collection though. At the company I worked for the last twenty years, we had POGS made with the company name on it, and managers would give them out - usually signed - for jobs well done, or special efforts. They could then be exchanged for items down in HR.... Coffee cups, knives, hats etc. The program was a big success and was quite motivational. Some people just kept the signed pogs and posted them at their area of work. Cheers, RickO
