1818 B-6 Bust Quarter G-T-C : 200 Year Anniversary (Grades Revealed)

In continued tribute to the 200 year anniversary of 1818 coinage, this Bust Quarter Guess-The-Crossover features the 1818 Browning 6 variety. It's a favorite 1818 variety of mine, as the reverse reaches a very late die state similar to the 1818/5 B-1 variety. It's a somewhat scarcer variety for 1818 and is called R-4. I bought the lower grade example first, and jumped at the second as an upgrade but still have both. The two coins were crossed from NGC to PCGS, and both have been to CAC.
Feel free to guess the NGC and PCGS grades for fun if you'd like, as well as if you thought they passed CAC. Comments are welcome, and if you have an 1818 B-6 please post a picture of it.

That second one is a really looker
BHNC #203
No ideas on the GTC.... but nice coins... are those stains on the obverse of the first coin a bit green? Could be just the picture.... just mentioning it in case it is PVC.... Cheers, RickO
The second one looks 40 and the bean.
i really like the second one. cool
First coin is a VG 8 CAC
Second coin EF 40 CAC
Effects of cracked die had to influence wear pattern. Probably a Fine and an AU55 or 58. Luster looks great!
I'll take a guess but will probably be way off.
F12
XF45
15 and 58. That 2nd one is super sweet.
Gut Reaction: VG-8
Opened grading guide and changed my opinion: VG-10. TPGS GRADE: F-12
Gut Reaction XF w/no specific grade.
Virtually all of its luster and no marks to speak of: XF-45 and the die break probably caused weakness.
TPGS GRADE AU-53. Took another look and if they ignore the bullseye wear on the cheek: AU-55. In fact, that's going to be my guess. TPGS GRADE AU-55.
F-12 no cac
AU-55 with cac
Both really nice coins!
@Barndog was there first, but everyone was mostly close or right on.
The lower grade coin was an NGC F12 from the Jules Reiver collection. It crossed to F12 at PCGS, but did not pass CAC.
The second coin is from the Norweb collection. It graded AU58, but garnered a + on a reconsideration. This one did pass CAC. As noted by insider2, the only real distraction is the cheek, but I think the luster and overall look trumps it.
@ricko said " are those stains on the obverse of the first coin a bit green? " I think it may be the trueview picture making it seem that way.

you sent it in for reconsideration, were you looking for the plus grade or did you think it had a shot at AU62?
So it was a weak strike V's wear on the eagle head and leading edge of wings. And talon feathers are non existent
Or it's my computer screen..
Your screen is fine, You see the wear. IMO, the coin is a little over graded as a 58!
Your honest opinion is refreshing. Thanks.
