Be careful relisting items on eBay,,,,,,,

I was just relisting some items and noticed that if you click on the blue box link eBay is automatically reducing the selling price.
It looks like around by 10% or so depending on the original price.
I had to go back and readjust my prices.

Oops!
I'd better be careful too!

Seems to be no end.

For you Glen,,,,, you always get a discount

If only this policy was in place for my taxes.....sigh.
I pay way too much in taxes already - and I am retired.

I just attempted to relist an item and it did NOT lower the price, so maybe it is category based?

I can't get this screen shot directly but click on the link to see the message.
Try this,,,,,
My favorite is eBay automatically checking the 'sell internationally using the global shipping program' box when you use the 'sell similar' option, even if you had it unchecked in the listing you're copying.
eBay is just out to get it sold and take their cut. Daily something fishy on eBay thread.
They also seem to be able to add the best offer option n my listings no matter what I check to prevent it.
e bay is going downhill, got my first return in years a month ago because buyer said "something come up"
My biggest problem lately is when I relist I have to watch out for ebay listing it multiple times with 1 click, I can't remember if my record is 6 or 8 times a listing has listed!....ebay takes your listing fees and it has caused me much grief when I miss it and sell the same item twice!
So, you're saying if I click the "drop the price $5" button, it will drop the price $5?
You also need to be careful, if you click the "end listing" button, it will end the listing. I also think that if you click the "print shipping label", it will actually print a shipping label.
Point is it didn't use to be like that and I am use to just clicking on the box to relist at the same price.
You just hit that button and BAM that is it,,,,, relisted. No chance to proof read it.
AND,,,,, if you are doing it from your phone everything is much smaller and easy to overlook.
Thanks for the heads up!
eBay had all it's charm when it was just an online garage sale.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
I'm not sure how that's eBay's fault. Blame Amazon or Walmart or any of a dozen big online retailers who taught the public that everything ships free in BOTH directions.
Here is an ebay bash ... just tonight, I sold a $700 coin on ebay, so cool nice sale. I check the feedback of the buyer and see a zero. I am ok, PayPal has my back and I see that the coin isn't yet paid for and I need to send an invoice. Ok I go to send an invoice and it needs a shipping fee because it is going to the Ukraine. I like what, a zero feedback going to the Ukraine. WTF, The Ukraine. Paypal ain't gunna cover this bs. I think about the shady Paul Manafort and his dealings in the Ukraine and cancel the order.
I hope that everything works out for you. However, you have to keep politics out of your posts. regardless of your affiliations, politically. I have been taken advantage of many times regardless of the countries involved. I could care less what your opinion is for your reasons why.
Speak nicely of the site or the Ebay Bucks goblins will bite.
LMAO, and I agree.
It was strange that ebay did send me a zero feed buyer from the Ukraine.
Knowing that paypal will not cover this one, would you send it out?
Only international I do is through the Ebay clearing hub. Some execs tipped me off to the high number of chargebacks from intl sales. Not enough margin to eat that risk. Furthermore Paypal takes an extra 1% on overseas shipping.
You have nice stuff...wait till a better buyer shows up.
Don’t offend Ukraine, drop the “the” !

I think I could have made that intelligent decision with out thinking about Paul Manafort
I've done it. Single digit feedback to Latvia not Ukraine, but same basic idea. I also once had a customer with zero feedback in Morocco. Nothing as expensive as the coin you mention.
You have to send it priority mail which you can then insure through the Post Office to most countries. [Not sure about Ukraine.] If you have door to door tracking to a foreign country, eBay /PayPal coverage should still apply.
For what it's worth, the Latvian customer is still a regular customer of mine. The Moroccan customer was a regular for a while but I eventually cut him loose after the 5th or 6th shipment went missing. His $25 orders were not insurable and he was unwilling to pay the $30 Priority Mail fee to guarantee delivery.
Next to the Moroccan delivery, the one I held my breath on was a $300 coin to the UK. The buyer had a feedback of 3. Since it was the UK, I took the chance. He's still a regular buyer, but I always hold my breath as he's always buying coins in the $300 to $400 range.
I also have to watch the "Best Offer" option that ebay sticks in all my relisted auctions!
Yeah that happened. I hav nothing but sorrow for them. Crimes unimaginable and then they lose only port.
Best place to buy !

If you are paying the price to insure world shipping, you should ship through the ebay global shipping program. It is much cheaper and once it arrives in Kentucky you are off the hook! In some instances the price is almost half the cost of shipping insured through the USPS! I shipped a $2,000+ coin to Malaysia or Singapore(can't remember which) this way. Would you ship a $2,000 coin internationally through the USPS?
I remember ebay back in the mid '90's.... such a friendly place, even had a members chat room. Purchased a lot of items back then... never had a problem. Now it seems so complex....well, at least for sellers. I never sold anything on ebay, so cannot speak to that sector. Just reading all the stories here on the forum, I visit ebay less and less...Cheers, RickO

Actually, it is way easier and safer to be a seller on ebay these days. Super safe and the worlds biggest coin market. It is so easy to make a profitable business using ebay.
My latest beef with EBay is some of my sold items are ending up in my relist category. I actually relisted an item that had been previously sold. I have a few more items to sell and then I'm done with EBay.
No, I do use global shipping for really expensive items. It's the "tweeners" that are the problem. It's expensive for relatively inexpensive coins. I self insure almost everything under $300.
I do not ship out of the US except Canada- just not worth the risk or hassle. Thanks to the OP for the tip on the relist email!

Not that this matters much, but Manafort's actions in the Ukraine were basically to try and lobby and manipulate the political situation on behalf of Russia. He was essentially anti-Ukraine and wanted to undermine the Ukranian government. Ukraine is a wonderful country.
My Early Large Cents
Why is this drivel allowed here?
I will go out on a limb and surmise that Manafort had nothing to do with this ebay transaction and probably doesn't even know about it.
If he did, you can bet that Mueller knows about it.
