Feeling for those on the Big Island effected. Open my news every day hoping I don't see news of an unpredicted major eruption.
I believe it's both predicted and expected based on history of the volcano. Just hope it doesn't happen because it would be a big problem for those folks.

I have a buddy that I used to work with that has relocated to Hawaii... he is safe at this time, different island. I sure hope that the situation gets better... it is an incredible force of nature that cannot be denied once it commences. Cheers, RickO

I already asked for a lava-encased coin last week, so get in line behind me.
It must be eerily beautiful to see all that volcanic stuff going on. If the fire and lava isn't bad enough I guess there are lots of poisonous gasses. (So, whoever if going to get me my lava coin, take a deep breathe and hold it before you get close to the lava flow).
I hope people are careful. The dangers remind me of that tsunami in Thailand some years ago when the water receded dramatically and people went out on the sand to see all sorts of neat stuff stranded there (easiest fishing ever on that day), only to get swallowed up by the wave when the water rushed back in.
In Hawai'i there is the danger of a volcanic explosion and countless tons of debris raining down. Best to get out of Dodge and watch it on the news (after they get my coin encased in lava, of course).
I have been looking for one of those. I'll take that one if you are tired of looking at it.
I do have some vials of ash from Vesuvius which were packaged and sold as souvenirs at the time.
