I received a couple of PMs with regard to this PP issue a couple of months ago so I thought I would publish the outcome as there were many forum members who had opinions as to whether or not it was a scam.
The person who mistakenly received the F&F payment due to an email typo refunded the money to me. I subsequently forwarded it to the rightful payee. So, wrong payee was honest and returned what was not his, I forwarded the money to the correct payee, I have the item, everyone is whole.
By the way, the erroneous payee is one of those who rarely checks his PP account or his PP email.

Honesty still exists. You only hear about the crooks. Honesty doesn't make news so we just don't realize that most people are basically good. Glad you dealt with one of the good ones and thanks for reminding us all that they are still out there.

Glad the PayPal person was honest. I bet he/she was surprised to see money in his account. Wondering what in the heck did he buy?
Strange that it went to an active email. What are the odds unless it was a common iteration. Also, if it wasn't a PP email the erroneous recipient may have just clicked "dont accept" when they saw that that email has a PayPal payment attached.
Some people are honest. It makes for a better world.
