Happy Mother's Day.

My grandmother got me interested in coins when we would together, go through and inventory her jar of Wheat Cents and look through her Whitman albums.
She was a depression era through the 60's farmers wife. I'm sure she had to spend many coins that she would like to have kept.
But that was not an option.

My Mother was not a coin collector.... but through the years, even while I was living in other countries and/or states, she would save coins that 'looked different' to her and send them to me. I still have them...though I no longer have my Mother. Cheers, RickO
My mom would surprise me every so often with a new coin for my collection. One time a proof set at Christmas. She got me started with a few old large cents that she had since she was a girl. Shiny Lincoln pennies. I'm getting all choked-up. Oh well, time moves along. Happy Mother's Day.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the numismatic mom’s out there!

My Mom was the one who bought those type coins when I first became a coin collector at the age of 9, in return for good behavior and good grades. She encouraged me and bought me my first Red Book. Thanks, Mom! Happy Mother's Day!
Gonna get me a $50 Octagonal someday. Some. Day.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
My Mom used to go to the bank whenever she could to get rolls of cents and nickels for me to check while I was building my Whitman folders. She still likes to buy me coins for my birthday now (I’m 38) and listens to me when I explain the significance of my latest acquisitions. Thanks for supporting me in this hobby, Mom!
A gift from my Mom...

She liked and used silver like a lot of homemakers from the Mid West.
What good examples do you have of your mother's work in your life? My mother had her life revolutionized by a Bible study she was a part of in the late 1970s. She met with other women/mothers who were married to corporate husbands; each of them had been through a lot of trouble over the years. Only through seeking Christian and Bible-oriented solutions in their family's lives did improvements happen.
My dad got me interested in coins but my mom supported me and put up with the madness.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

To all the single Dad as well.....

My mom bought me a Whitman "One-a-Year" Lincoln folder when I was in Cub Scouts in 1974 because I needed to make a collection of something. The rest is history.
