Sure, why not... as long as it's Heads Up... if not, walking right by like I never saw it in the first place... Ha!, Call me crazy, but I've been called much worse!
I stopped for a while after almost getting hit by a car that was backing up a few years ago and falling into a bush or shrub. I'm pretty bad as I'll even salvage them from some puddles. It drives my kid crazy as it's embarrassing to him. He once asked so Dad just how Jewish are we? I told him this has nothing to do with being Jewish or not as this is your college fund if your too stupid to get a scholarship.

I make so much money it is a waste of my time to pick money up off the ground. I will have someone pick it up for me.
Well, actually, none of the above is true.... I pick up all coins I see unless I am somewhere fancy
Yes, I do. Before I got interested in Coins, my family would not pick up a cent even if they dropped it themselves. However, they now always do and I get them.
I pick up all coins on the ground. Just found a Singapore dollar coin on the ground the other day. Found a diamond ring last year but turned it in to the local police, the owner claimed it three days later. You never know what you’ll see next!
My best finds are a $500 casino chip, 12g of 24k with a diamond and a fistful of 100s while moving some leaves around. It's been awhile, though. I made 1.24 today. 20 cents or so was on the last stretch of my ride home.
A timely post. This week as I stepped out of my vehicle to drop mail into the street side mailbox, there on the roadway was a very sad looking quarter. I took it out of its misery by picking it up and dropping it into my parking meter change compartment.
Then the next day I pulled up to a driveway and there on the ground as I exited the vehicle was even a sadder looking dime. I hesitated, but in the end picked it up to join its bigger brother. Since parking meters don't take pennies I doubt I would have picked one up in the same forlorn condition. Nickel? Maybe.
I think it's a generational thing. People over 50 are far more likely to pick up a cent that someone under 50.

I'm sure many remember the permabond glued quarter in the hallway at High School! Yeap! I did it and got a lotta laughs at people tripping over each other when the bell rang!
I always pick them up.... well, except when they are in a urinal.... yes, I have seen that on a few occasions. I do pick up coins on the ground or floor of malls and markets....They are money, and I do not waste money. Cheers, RickO
Yes it is a treasure hunt with my two daughters ages 4 and 6. They love the hunt, they jump up and down when they find a cent, and especially a dime or quarter. They are learning the value of coins, how to save money by placing the finds in their piggy banks and they read the dates and mints in order to fill their respective albums.
A triple win in my book and a fun family activity.
No coins today but one of the post offices I ship from shares the parking lot with a cosmetology school. When the girls run late for classes they tend to loose a lot of gold & silver. I usually net about $80 in scrap a year and have gotten pretty good at spotting costume jewellery without bending over to pick it up. Today's find is a silver hoop earning

Yes I pick up coinage, bills too.
I was at the renaissance festival, bent down to pick up a stray $20 and it took off just as I was about to grab it.
The laugh was on me till I reached in my wallet, pulled a one dollor bill out tore it into confetti sized pieces and pitched it at the girl with the string.

That's funny. I recall years ago I was drinking at a bar with some friends and saw the distinctive "look" of a war nickel in the urinal.
Squinted and saw the "P". (No pun intended).
It kept nagging at me, knowing it was there.
I did not rescue it.

That’s because we are generally hunched over with a better view to spot them

Walker Proof Digital Album Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
People sometimes lose bills at self checkout. They have their bills and change and receipt and go to detach the horrifically difficult plastic bag. Good place to look. People lose their keys there a lot too.
Different angle here. I always pick them up but not for the money. All of the US coins have "In God We Trust" on them. It's disrespectful to our creator to leave the word of God on the ground. Funny thing is I'm a very secular person. Haven't seen the inside of a place of worship for years but it still bugs me enough to bend my fat ass to pick them up.

So I guess if you saw a large cent (no IGWT) on the ground then you would just keep on walking.

yes.
those who do not honor the penny by bending down and pick it up, do not deserve finding a Dollar.

only if it is standing on its edge. Otherwise not worth a penny fighting to pick it up flat.
