800,000 dimes crashed on the highway.

StoogeStooge Posts: 4,692 ✭✭✭✭✭

Looks as if there are dimes everywhere on the highway outside of Las Vegas.

Wonder how long it took Onlyroosies to rush there to see if any were worth grading? :)

It’s $800k in dimes, that’s 8,000,000 coins. Maybe they’re all 17 p’s on the way to Pcgs in hopes of making a few 69FB’s....

after picking all these up, State troopers will be seeing dimes in their dreams

Paying state troopers salaries to pick up dimes. Doesn't seem like the taxpayers will get the best bang for the buck, or dime.

I do not think the Troopers were picking up the coins... they secured the site for a recovery team...It would be interesting to know what the recovery rate actually was.... and did they use metal detectors.... Cheers, RickO

Newest oldest hit in the Silver State:

Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?

    Lyrics
They used to tell me I was building a dream
And so I followed the mob
When there was earth to plow or guns to bear
I was always there right on the job
They used to tell me I was building a dream
    With peace and glory ahead
Why should I be standing in line
    Just waiting for bread?
Once I built a railroad, I made it run
    Made it race against time
Once I built a railroad, now it's done
Brother, can you spare a dime?
Once I built a tower up to the sun
    Brick and rivet and lime
Once I built a tower, now it's done
Brother, can you spare a dime?
Once in khaki suits, gee we looked swell
Full of that yankee doodly dum
Half a million boots went sloggin' through hell
And I was the kid with the drum
Say, don't you remember, they called me Al
It was Al all the time
Why don't you remember, I'm your pal
Say buddy, can you spare a dime?
Once in khaki suits, ah gee we looked swell
Full of that yankee doodly dum
Half a million boots went sloggin' through hell
And I was the kid with the drum
Oh, say, don't you remember, they called me Al
It was Al all the time
Say, don't you remember, I'm your pal

Perhaps the load shifted, doesn't appear that the crates were secured in the trailer.?

That is crazy. I had not even opened the OP's link when I added my comment. Surprised to see that the song's title was the title of the article! When I read "dime" in the thread title that song was the first thing that came to my mind.

Interesting to hear about both of these on k-love after a day on the road to a coin shop and to see them both mentioned here in one thread. Hmmm

“Truck full of 8 million dimes crashes in Nevada, spilling money across the desert“

    Per FOX NEWS quoting AP.

Metal detectorist should have a field day in the desert.
