Anyone seen a Hobo Commemorative?

If so, I'd like to see an example. Here is one I recently picked up (seller's photos as it hasn't arrived yet.)

Very nicely done. I assume a recent piece?

I have seen something similar, but not sure what denomination it was. Very cool .

P.S. Might be time to spring for a new 2x2?

Do you know if it is made from a genuine Stone Mountain commem or was a modern counterfeit used as the canvas?

Looks like it could be a Grateful Dead album cover.
    I grade it a keeper.

Looking at the reverse (or, obverse?) photo of the coin it appears to be genuine (some wear: about VF'ish).

Only one I have. Definitely genuine Columbian Half, probably modern hobo work by "C.J." I have trouble telling modern from old hobo work sometimes.

Those are the first carved commemorative's I have seen.... Though some of the half dollar sized coins that have been shown do not show the reverse - so could have been commemoratives...I doubt any are original hobo carvings... that was a lot of money back then... Cheers, RickO

Not bad, assuming you like outstanding carvings on coins.... ;)

    Who did those?

They were carved by Bill “BillZach” Jameson

I should have known. I used to be on a forum somewhere that he posted regularly. I think he was a trailblazer in the area of high end hobos. As I recall, someone even commissioned him to carve on a gold $20.
