It graded out at 65. I honestly thought it would go 66 but I suppose pcgs had other ideas. The grade will not stop me from loving this pretty buff. I would guess decades in the same spot to have picked up this beautiful color.
Thanks for looking and comments, opinions are welcome here, as always.
Happy hunting, Joe

I figured I'd throw a couple of my images in here too, behind plastic of course.

A shout out to Las Vegas Teddy for walking this trough for me. You the man, Ted. A VERY good friend.

    Now that's one gorgeous Buff.
That coin could be the poster child for "Target Toning"!

Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set:
    1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

But the plating came off in the centers. Oh wait. that's a nickle not a Gold Buffalo.

Obviously just kidding. I like it a lot.

65 or 66, either way that is one gorgeous buffalo. Congrats!

Maybe they didn't give it a 66, for the strike, but I'll take 65 with that toning all day. Nice coin!

@crazyhounddog.... I will never understand where these come from.... Nice coin... and though I am not a tarnish fan, I must say, that is one unique Buff.... and truly in tune with your preferences and collection. Cheers, RickO

My guess is that the braid and tail kept it from 66. Sure wasn't the toning which is beautiful. I wish my few buffs would've toned like that, in comparison they are butt ugly.

    Wow!

The graders on their way to work that day must have either received a traffic ticket, a flat tire or got stuck in traffic for many hours.

Upon receiving that slab, immediately I'd crack that sucker out quicker than you can say "if the grade don't fit, then re-submit".

You beat me to it. My usual comments about strike don't apply to this one.

It's really all about the "look".
