So I'm looking at my PCGS "Box of 20".....

And realize it's face value is $2.41.

I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector.

I have a friend that has a collection of about 65 cents face that makes me cry.

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

That is a humorous perspective.... and a sobering one.... add up the face value of your collection, and then add up the acquisition prices of the same coins....Nah, never mind... :D Cheers, RickO

As long as someone else will pay over face like we did, it's all good.

Taking into account silver melt, I'd have $27.14

That got me thinking about my Capped Bust Half Dime set. 123 marriages and remarriages of which I had 118 (as I recall).
Melt value $69.62, face value $5.90

I don't have an official box of twenty, but if I did pick my favorite 20, the smallest denomination I have is a $2 1/2.

It's a sobering thought....The million-dollar top ranking Walker full sets have a face value of $32.50.

I thought you were headed toward a giveaway.
The closest to the composition of the box by denomination, type, date and mintmark, grade, CAC or no, etc. wins the whole box.
    No??

    Made me laugh :D

The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
