The David Poole collection of proof three cent nickels is off the charts in regards to looks and quality.

Dale Larsen’s late date toned Walkers are a sight to behold. We have done show and tells and I’ve seen all the coins in hand. Spectacular.

Wayne looks like he is doing some pruning. The good news is that he only collects eye candy. Some is up for grabs.

The neat thing about these 3 collectors is that they represent what’s good in the hobby. These are the good guys

Good luck to them and all the potential new owners. The auction is May 16 and May 17.

I was just considering starting a thread for Dale titled "Is It Ethical to Pimp Coins in an Auction If Everybody Likes the Guy?" <3

In Dales case the answer is always yes. Love him to death.

There is no doubt, considering those consignors, that there will be some choice coins available. Good luck to all... Cheers, RickO

I had a good jump shot and played decent high-school ball. I was recruited as a gym rat to fill out the GWU freshman basketball team in 1962. My play improved substantially. My understanding of the game showed me my limits.
Raising your game is not a quantum leap; incrementalism all the way. So I adapted back to gym ball.

Can't grade the 67+/68 line as well any more, but I still enjoy numismatic porn :D

One of the beauties of watching these beauties sell is that just watching raises your game. I remember going through some of Dale's CAC rejects with him a couple of years ago, including that glorious failure, the 1861 PCGS PR65 S$1.

Don't know @dpoole's work, but Dale and Wayne have helped, by the act of curating their collections, to define (?) gorgeous toning favored by powerful market forces unquantifiable except by the last bidder standing. Which will be a rabid collector motivated not by greed but by lust.

Are you calling me weenie just because I said what I said? It does not seem fair don't you think?

Drooling over some of these. Guess I’m gonna need to sell a lot of coins quickly.

    Those coins are great.

I doubt if anyone here thinks of you as any less than a first-class coin weenie. It's visceral and pansexual >:)o:):o;)

    Dear Colonel:

Sounds like you need a cup of coffee!

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.
