First shots with my new lens.

bigjpstbigjpst Posts: 3,225 ✭✭✭✭✭

I have been up until this point using a bellows system with my camera. Just bought a new macro lens and have a side by side comparison.
Photo on the left is picture I took yesterday with the old setup, right is the new lens. Dimes have always been tough. I know I still need some work but I was pretty happy with out of the box results.

New lens looks great. Can really see the details so much better.

Thanks. Large view is still pretty blurry and will probably have to make some adjustments to the camera. Gotta go back and read Goodmans book to refresh.

They both look good. Of course, the macro lens looks better. The other looks to have the same detail with just a little too much light knocking the view down. As for your macro pic being blurry when you enlarge it, have you check the pixel/size of your pictures on the camera? Just an idea.

    That's a huge contrast difference.

The new picture is quite nicely lit and well exposed and appears quite sharp.

    Well done.

Big improvement, I think you are on the right track. A little more playing and some advice from the professionals here and you will be doing great!

Now I’m curious. Is the picture that bad.

The new shot looks great. You really up leveled the photos, youll prob wonder why you waited or how you got along without it. At least that’s how I feel every time I step up and buy any new tool.

WOW, what a difference. Got to get me one of those.......
PS. Good tools are essential, but the mind behind the lens is the "key" to great.

I don't meant to offend, but yes, it's that bad.

The good news is I'll bet your new lens and improved photo skills will allow you to take a MUCH more flattering photo of that coin.
