Mint Statistics: Returns ding World War I set numbers
Posted on April 20, 2018 by Dave Harper
How many weeks in a row can the Mint subtract sales from the World War I Silver Dollar and Service Medal sets? We don’t have the answer yet because they are still declining. Every single one of the five versions went down. Buyer’s remorse apparently has no end for these sets.
To point out something lively, look at silver American Eagle bullion coins. Sales jumped by 275,000 to reach 610,000. A couple more weeks of sales like this and the monthly downtrend will break.
On the other hand, gold American Eagle bullion coin sales definitely are still snoozing. Just 500 of the one-ounce coin were vended by the Mint.
Look at the 2018 clad proof set and see that sales have passed the 200,000 mark to reach 201,739. This is an increase of 6,581 sets, erasing half of last week’s loss.
Apostle Island quarter sales figures now appear in the chart below.
