Tax season and decrease in sales?

AzurescensAzurescens Posts: 2,906 ✭✭✭✭✭

Is anyone else experiencing a decrease in sales the past 7-10 days? Not just a few items here and there but a quite noticeable difference?

Is this something that happens around tax season? The wife said 2 weeks prior and 2 weeks after taxes being due, her business experiences a 28-30% loss in revenue.

I've been hit really hard on my mushroom, moss and fern end, and not terribly hard on the coin end but enough to notice. I've seen typically expensive coins selling for much lower than expected.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Procrastinated until last minute and I just paid additional $1800 federal, would have preferred to buy $1800 in gold coin but guess I'm tapped out for the month. Guess we need more guns and trump needs more golf trips to Florida. Semper Fi.

I have had a large uptick in sales and was wondering if it was tax refunds. Sales have been strong all year as has the economy.

Not the last minute for two more days. And we are filing taxes for last year so you can blame someone other than your usual tired rant.

I am sure some people paid more and are tapped a bit....but many received returns and are likely spending a bit... should balance out....Cheers, RickO

A thousand excuses in the coin business. Christmas, 4th of July, back to school, Summer, Easter falling on a Sunday.

Quality merchandise priced competitively will always do well. Sellers hanging on for 2011 prices will wait a while longer.

I didn’t do quarterlies last year for various reasons so yesterday I had to ECH the Feds enough funds to buy a Quarter.
1901s in VF25 would be my choice.
I’m sure I won’t be attending the Santa Clara show this weekend due to that.

    Works for me.

My wife did just mention perhaps the initial boon in sales I experienced was from refunds and now just normalizing.

The same happened at her physical store that's going on with my online store. Looking at trends, there were tons of buys within 3-10 days of federal refunds being returned and a few weeks later (most) state refunds had tons of purchases, but that could mean anything I guess.

I should have held off on my last purchase, but...I'm weak! I have been raiding my "rat holes" to pay my state taxes.

Yeah, I am waiting, the problem is I keep piddling it away.

By the time that 10% coupon arrives my 500 ebucks will be down to 10. It will make that $1000 coin a lot less attractive

Yes I do double count ebucks, but we all do, right ? ;) .

There is typically a couple weeks each side of 4/15 it slows. Even more pronounced this year due to the clumping of coin shows in March. Any time consumers are a bit distracted we notice it. We shall see how Santa Clara goes this week. I expect sales on Friday 4/20 to be good and in the clouds! ;)

Yeah. I've never gotten any ebucks bonuses, And this, despite my many years of virtuous living.

In response to the point of all this, sales have been steady at Ebay for me, as well.

Spend big and spend often is apparently the key to getting the bonus bux.

Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set:
    1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

With all the uncertainties with trade war, missile launching, stock volatility and taxes, everyone is cutting down on spending. My sale at the liqueur store dropped 25% compare to last year.

My sales are up 20% over last year.
    I'm happy.
Typically slows from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
That's when I do a lot of buying.

clearly, sentiment is better than you think or liquor store sales would be up!

Wow, it just jumped to 1000% Another big sale last night.

Of course, this is unsustainable but I think I am on the right track. Kinda overwhelming as I feel I have reached a tipping point.
