I've been admiring the Libertas Americana series for quite sometime........ for the beauty and history behind it.
This is nothing at all to be compared to those of @cardinal and @Justacommeman but their collections inspired me to learn the story about it.

This particular bidding ended while I was still at work so knowing other listings at North of $1700; I placed an insurance bid at $1100 with $389 still on with 2 hours to close. Guess what price did I get it at?

Congrats! These are addictive. NGC 69’s go for $350 to $450. I see there is one unsold in NGC 70 for $900 right now one line. I don’t really follow NGC prices on these restrikes. Maybe cardinal knows. Sounds like you did good regardless. I’m so happy you didn’t get rung up at $1100.

$517 Did PCGS cease from grading the Libertas post 2013?
$550 to $700 for NGC 70’s sounds more inline

I have a silver & bronze I think from around '05.
I guess these aren't worth much of anything?.

Yup. You should be feeling guilty since I want this coin too now. Also need to find a new comfy couch once my wife finds out I over spending on my budget again.
I would try not to fall in love with a collectible, considering that coin collectors are a relatively small part of society, especially moderns. I hope you like the coin but objective analysis usually dispels the idea that you paid too little.
They are not really "restrikes." They are copies or imitations. A true restrike should be made from the original dies, but at a different date than originals.
But it remains a beautiful design - compare to the awful stuff put on our coins for the next 150 years -- and today.

My reasoning is : a nice ASE PCGS PF70CAM is about $100 and up; this Libertas weighs 5oz so I thought $500 is reasonable

It is a nice item, but the premise that it is too cheap is really a stretch.
1) The item is less than four years old. It often takes 10 or 20 years to establish how the market will value something - maybe even longer.
For instance, it has taken over forty years for official U.S. proof coin sets from 1971 and 1972 (issued at $5) to fall back to very near face value. Few thought that was ever possible.
2) The Monnaie de Paris has churned out a significant number of these medals/copies (in various metals and modules) in recent years, and they certainly have the capacity to do more or many more.
As a state enterprise in a highly socialist nation, the Monnaie de Paris likely does not have the same pressure to make a profit that some other Mints may face. One of the big State/ institutional goals of the Monnaie de Paris is to reinforce the notions of 'French luxury' and 'French qualite deluxe', by issuing this kind of product. La Monnaie has also produced jewelry and small sculptures in recent years, for the purpose of developing craftspersons and furthering the ideas and concepts of 'French quality'.
3) As noted, the item sold to you at five times it's intrinsic value. By the standards of collectible numismatic silver coins (both old and new) that's not high at all, but it's high for any recent bullion thingie.
4) I attribute at least one-third of the value/price that you paid to the thingie being in a "70" holder. To a purist collector of modern stuff, a "69" would serve as a representative specimen just as well, and might be $150 cheaper. Don't crack or break the holder, it represents maybe one-third of the price that was paid here!
The biggest future downside limiting the future market value of this piece of merchandise is that more will be issued sooner or later. As a collectible, it's okay. I wouldn't say cheap.
I clearly see the perspective and absolutely agree with all the factual points making this coin "not cheap" but emotionally it served the purpose. I am happy to hold it until the day........

If you are comparing intrinsic value to current market price, the Brasher Doubloon is a much much better value than an 1804 Draped Bust silver dollar.
