This one went way over price guide - XF-40 1923-S Walker!

Was watching this one, but forgot about the bid ending time. This is a very tough date, and I do like the look of this coin.

That is a really nice coin with original, mark-free surfaces.

    Sometimes "dirty" annoys me.....

But that one has "dirt in all the right places". Very attractive.

$600 attractive? Maybe not all that out of line given the steep price curve, and PCGS guide claiming $650 for an XF-45. (Your mileage may vary).

The under-bidder bid on 22 separate auctions from this seller.

I wouldn't be TOO quick to point fingers. David Kahn has a pretty loyal following, since the stuff he sells tends to be "high quality for the grade". I'm always checking his website....

Yes, and with AU's nearly impossible to locate, and priced pretty high, I'm guessing someone settled for the next best grade and was willing to pay up to get it.

The 1923-S is a brutal date to find nice in better grades.

They are getting tougher and tougher as the years roll on by.

When it comes to Early Walkers, you can toss the price guide out the window, as it will do you no good.

Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Who's pointing fingers? This buyer likes him even more.

Maybe I read too deeply, then. I thought maybe you were raising the "shill flag".

If that wasn't the intent, then no worries.

Dave Kahn is a straight shooter with a large client base. Just try to get to his table at a coin show and you will see how many happy clients he has. In my book above reproach

Which is why it went for way over guide or guide is hopelessly behind for PQ coins.

I was a bidder too and for the same reason. Quite attractive for the grade.

I was likely 2nd or 3rd underbidder and seriously considered jumping it again. I've bid on enough of his stuff to come up on a shill detector too. I went 0 for 3 on stuff from him yesterday, and there were another 6 I was considering.
