Probably not what you expected 
I few weeks ago I was going through an original roll of these Bi-Centennial halves to send for grading. I picked out 5 coins and surprisingly the middle one that has proof like fields was the only one grading MS66. These look so fresh I think I still have some luster on my finger tips 
Hope you enjoy looking and maybe, just maybe it might cause you to have Fun with your coins

I always loved looking at the reverses of those 1776-1976 coins.

Really great bicentennials but I’m shedding a tear for math.
41 (actually 42) year old coins that I remember seeing and collecting from pocket change when I was 20.
Geeze how time flies. July 4, 1976 and the nationwide celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of the USA was really special. I remember watching the fireworks on the Boston Commons and the orchestra lead by Arthur Fielder performing many patriotic works as the fireworks show was put on.
Too bad they all graded so low.
Which one is supposed to be proof-like?

Roger, cert# 35061274 in hand has proof like fields although it does not show well in the TV.

Actually his math is correct. Americas birthday is July 4th, so they are 41 yr old coins until then.

If we’re going to get technical, bicentennials were minted in 1975 and 1976 so they could be almost 43 years old!
2 & #3 really look like keepers!
Are the grading companies harder on the rev on these than they normally would be with the standard coinage?
1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!
@halfhunter I do not think graders are normally any tougher on the '76 half reverse, maybe it's just too much luster

As an impressionable 12 year old at the time, I was really into everything Bicentennial.

Correct, the type 1 reverse bold lettering tells us these were made in 1975.

Nice coins... I have a jewelry box full of bi-centennial halves...saved them years and years ago... and there they sit...I really should just spend them....Cheers, RickO
