1982 nickle help

Is this a metal detector find or something else I have seen this a few times before but never really new thanks

    Normal nickel, plus environmental damage.

    Environmental damage.....on the table top. I don't have an opinion on the nickel.

    I have seen nickels come out of the ground looking like that...depends on the type of soil...and length of time buried. Cheers, RickO
