I am out looking for a nicely struck coin and I find a terrific example of the opposite.... for your view pleasure if you all are bored.

The 40-S, 42-S and 44-S can be this weak, also. This example has a nice right field, a decently defined head, some light eye-appealing toning and IMHO would 66 with average branch hand detail.

Seeing one of these weak strike examples in blast white unc is weird - looking at it, you have to think it is circulated - but there are no luster breaks.

SHEESH. The obverse and reverse don't even look like the same coin.

The obverse looks worn in the pictures.. weak strike contributes to that I would think... but the reverse looks great....Cheers, RickO

No luster breaks clean fields and typical weak strike for the issue.

Even 65s and 66s can be flat in the thumb and skirt area.

Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

I bought this one on the BST a little while ago. Best strike I've seen on a 41-S, by far.

I have seen 1942 PROOF halves with similar strike.
