My mystery Morgan is back from grading! 1885 S or 1895 S?

(Sorry for the bad slab pictures, I tried so hard but kept getting a reflection from the plastic, lighting is somewhat orange as well ugh) I was hoping to grab that Po01 grade but I couldn't be any happier since it turned out to be an 1895 S! Picked this up at a pawn shop and had it graded. Nice piece for my collection! Also my lowest minted coin find.     How could they tell that? Is there die markers?

    If the top third of the digit shows, which seems to be the case, it's easy to tell an 8 from a 9. The 8 has much more drastic curvature, especially on the right side. Another possibility that I can't discern from the pictures is that you have one of the really dramatic S/S varieties, VAM 3 or 4.

    How can you tell the die markers when the coin is so worn off like this one? Pardon my question; it is part of my learning curve ;)
