if you could get this coin for 220, would any of you try conserving? I would be tempted... worse case you get it for reasonable money and if you got an upgrade to 63 it would be good. I just dont see a 63 coming out of it

If that's your worst case scenario for this coin then you and I have different definitions for "worst case"...

A dip would only make this sad coin worse.

The price to obtain it is one issue, but if you conserve it (or have it conserved for you) there is no guarantee that you will have a good looking coin, an upgrade or even a coin that manages to get into a straight-graded holder and you may end up paying fees to have all this done for you. Even if it does upgrade to MS63 we are only looking at, what, a $100-$200 boost in value? That is how I look at worst case for this coin.

My first impression is that I would be concerned that this is a genuine, heavily circulated 1921 Peace Dollar in a counerfeit holder.

Here's my entry for "UGLY" 1921 Peace 62s
I actually LOVE it! Has complete Mint Luster that shines through the crud. Has a bit more golden tint to the toning. Not as brown as the pictures. Hints of color as it's twirled. Love it.
