The Coin Show...............................revisited.

My boss has a fairly regular show schedule. Sometimes, however, it happens that there are two shows on the same day. Because of Easter Sunday last week a show had to be moved up a week to tomorrow. That means we each do a show which is exciting but makes me little nervous, nonetheless. I have been packing the last few days and have a good list, but there always seems to be something left behind.
The thing is, we never know till we're 200 miles from home!!!
I had a thread many years ago about this same topic that was fun and entertaining, I thought a redux might provide a few laughs. If you're a dealer or collector who does shows, tell us some of the memorable times you left something important behind. You know, like the GreySheet, a box of coins or even(God forbid) the cash-box!!

Checkbooks or spare checks seen to be one of the most often left behind. Not sure it’s not on purpose at times.
the worst one for us was on a Saturday when my boss did a show and I was left to help at the store. when I loaded him up the night before a boxed deal got set aside and I had to make the one hour + drive to deliver it.
When I used to set up at shows, I kept most items in flip top heavy duty plastic storage bins. SInce I don't have a shop, I could get away with that.
Then I made a list of all the other stuff I needed. Checkbook, loupe, laptop, cell phone, pens, business cards and the like.
I looked for my list to provide more detail - but I can't find it!

Gee Cameonut, you sound like me. I just made a grocery list and can't remember where I put it.

I do remember one time I got a little frazzled. (I may think of more).
One issue some shows have is that when you plug in all the lights, computers, and other stuff, the circuit gets overloaded and trips the breaker. This makes for a frustrating weekend as you fight the interruptions.
I was going to be a "good boy" and swap out my 75 and 100 watt incandescent light bulbs for the newfangled LED equivalents to reduce the load. While stored in the garage, I removed the old bulbs from my fixtures and installed the LEDs. No need to test, I thought, but I did bring a spare LED bulb.
Got to the show and found out that fixtures would not hold up the heavy LEDs. Since I left the old bulbs at home, I basically had lights that were worthless. After a bit of fretting, the show organizers let me borrow a couple of old bulbs for the weekend. No drama. (and yes, I know I could have gone to the corner store for bulbs)

Yeah, light issues are a hassle.
I have a checklist sheet with every item needed. Every show we check off every item. No longer forget anything.
These days I have graduated to One Note - a Microsoft application that is part of MS Office. So it plays nice across Word, Excel, etc and syncs across all my devices via my Microsoft Account.
Now, all my shopping lists, to do lists, coin lists, whisky lists, wine lists, and about anything else I want to keep track of is now on One Note and since it syncs to my smart phone - it is very convenient.
Now if I could only find that list of coin show things to bring, I can put that in another tab in One Note.

Can't forget the yellow mustard....
I have a list for hunting trips.... nothing worse than getting out in the middle of nowhere and find you left a critical item at home....like ammunition
or other needful things (i.e. toilet paper). Coin shows I just need money and my loupe...
Cheers, RickO
I drove an hour to Long Beach once and I had forgotten my favorite loupe..........Ya I was pissed, however many dealers let me use theirs, but I felt naked kinda
