This one came pretty expensive over others in the same grade auctioned off, but I liked the clean fields so I bought it from the dealer in the Long Beach show.

I've seen much worse pictures and coins as a first post!

That coin is probably the only one of that date with that grade and a CAC sticker, and attractive to boot!

I'd say you've done remarkably well, all things considered.

Welcome to the crotchety old men's club, please enjoy your stay. :)

Welcome - Tough coin you posted!

I wonder how they could tell it's a Proof, since there appears to be some strike weakness on the reverse, which I would associate as a Business strike....I'm sure there are other tells more visible in hand.

@Walkerguy21D it actually has the mirrors a proof would have, but just less. The mirrors are noticeable on the back more than the front.

Cool coin. It's interesting that long ago someone found the need to spend that coin even though it was intended to be saved. Circulation took it's toll and yet someone later in life understood it was different and took it out of circulation again.

When we talk about a coin having it's own story, this is one example.
