Coin display #2

RollermanRollerman Posts: 1,907 ✭✭✭✭✭

This one took a lot of work since I decided to put a historical event connected to each year of the Capped Bust Halves. It is only a year set, but it does include my 1815/2 in a Genuine holder (one small cleaned spot on the reverse). I also placed other denominations of the Bust design to fill out the story. The two coins on the bottom right hand side of the 2nd photo are damaged coins. I labelled it, "No way to treat a Lady!" One was holded and the other had the rims shaved as some unscrupulous people did did back then. It looks like there's a coin under 1816, and there is, but it's a year set for 1816, a lone large cent! I will have displays from this week end posted here next week, assuming they are of some interest.

    I need to thank my wife for painstakingly cutting out all those shapes the coins are sitting on. So, thanks hon! We're approaching our 50th Wedding Anniversary, so she's put up with me for a long time!

    Very nice displays... You should attend a large show such as FUN where they have display competitions... I am sure you would do well... Cheers, RickO

    Hey thanks Ricko. I'm not very competitive when it comes to coins, I just enjoy planning a way to display them and hope others enjoy seeing them. I also hope it's a way to promote the hobby.

    @Rollerman Nice looking display. :+1::+1:

    I've though about displaying some of my pieces once I get a few more, but have not really come up with any ideas that I like.

    How large is that display (24"X30")?

    On a side note, congrats on almost 50 years together.

    I don't have the display cases here, but I think it's more like 21" X 33". Just measured one of the felt liners and that's what I came up with. Thanks for the anniversary congrat's!
