do you surmise would experience demand if not the American Eagle?
(I'm not the newbie....I'm looking to illustrate a possible advantage of gold.)

Depends on your location imo, stay with something liquid that you can move quickly if you need to. If not AGE, Krugerrands, Canadian Maples are always easy to move. I like Pre-33 gold too but as I'm sure you know be careful about high premiums and counterfeits.

European fractionals from a reputable dealer have history interesting designs and price going for them. When time to sell a lot more people can pony up $3-400 than $1400. Fractionals bars and coins are good too, premiums are higher, but they should be more liquid. I repeat reputable dealer. Easy way to get your feet wet for a new buyer.

I personally like the Gold Buffs, but I think that Gold Maples would be more widespread. I think their mintages are higher, thus more universally available. The newer ones have more built-in security as well.
I knew it would happen.
I will also go with the gold Buffalo for beauty and bullion.
I like the American Eagles for durability. And I like the Maples for their simplicity in design.
And then you have the Beasts....
I stick with the AGE's and some gold Buffs...The liquidity is important, and I find them to be the best.... Actually, AGE's move even faster than Buffs.... Cheers, RickO
