Help with 64 d quarter mintmark

SmudgeSmudge Posts: 9,741 ✭✭✭✭✭

I am sorry for the poor photo. I am a retired photographer, but I used film, and am a Luddite with computers. Please blow this photo up and look at the d mintmark. Probably nothing, but looks like a blob. Just going through some coins and thought this was unusual. The quarter is uncirculated. I would appreciate your opinions as you guys know what you are doing. Is this worth looking into any more. Thanks in advance.

Looks OK to me with a shallow center. If the center of the "D" is completely filled, it is also OK and nothing special. This is a fairly common thing and can have several causes.

    Rare "rotated coin" variety. ( ;) )

There are several different mint mark placements and a few different looks to the mintmarks for the 64d quarter. The filled d mint mark is common.
