    I don't see any doubling, I do see a 1979-D lincoln cent not a 1978 lincoln cent.

    Buy some reference material so you have in hand something to compare to. First book should be the CherryPickers Guide if you are searching for varieties. Variety Vista is also a good online resource.

    The above ideas are great suggestions.
    When you first get bitten by the variety bug, fever can be rampant and incessant....then, later, when you have learned what IS and what is not, you will look at these coins and shake your head. :/
    It's part of the learning process.
    Another very informative online resource is www.coppercoins.com.
    Loads of information, great pictures too.
    Spend a few hours there browsing.
    It will be worth your time.
