1941 MS-67 FB Mercury Dime - DDO-002 ?

Great pictures..... is there some specific feature you are questioning? There seems to be some machine doubling on the motto ...it is not FSB....seems to be in a plastic holder of some sort.... Cheers, RickO

Sorry, I could have been more specific. This is in NGC plastic graded MS-67 Full Bands. I believe it is the DDO-002 and appears to match the characteristics of this rare variety....

no fs-101 FB at pcgs. you may have a monster there. - non fb - fb

is that an old soapbar ngc? - usually the first thing i think of when i think high fs mercs for some reason.

I'm looking at a ms62 in hand and the "RU" and "GO" look really close, though the doubling in the "IN' and "WE" seem more than the DDO. My coin has a lot of die polishing lines going thru the letters diagonally. Also die polishing lines left of the 1 going diagonally. If thats any help.

It almost looks like MD to me. And those die lines mentioned by dunerlaw should be there.

My guess is this is not the DDO 101.

after looking again you may be right. could be what they call it at vamworld. evil mimic.

this seems true for several letters in the motto.

The doubling in the op's motto is "extra doubled".
Machine doubled, the D is not correct, as well as others.
I like @LanceNewmanOCC comment, "evil mimic".

Sadly, I am now in the belief that this is not the coin. Mine seems to have a bigger notch on the S and the D is different

Here are photos i took of the FS-101 PCGS MS-65 Example that I cherrypicked and used to own,
It has a lot of die polish lines through the motto.

Got an update... Dr. Wiles has seen the coin and verified..... wait for it... It is NOT DDO-002. My dreams are crushed.... The specific language he used was "You are seeing the metal flow lines from the late die state."
