OCD is a great trait ........

.......... as long as you Know how to manage it.

Wether it be coin collecting, a sport, any other hobby, or work.

I have definitely gone out of control full OCD in coin collecting in the past, but now I have that managed.
............

I got my error coin biz to a place where I want it for now, thank you OCD.

Last week, I decided to update my Nature Photo Website to the 21st century, which I did. I called my social media consultant to start a program and he said "wait a minute, back the truck up" Then he explained SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to me, a term that I hd never heard before. Basically he told me that I have to go into all 1300 plus photos and rewrite the caption, headline and keywords. He said the caption had to be a first person story using SEO keywords that are the same in all the SEO boxes. Understand? Took me a couple days of writing to fully understand what I was doing.

Another words, Thank you again OCD for 5 days in a row of 15 hour work days at no pay. I still have about 20 more days of this to finish this project. Then off to a social media campaign. Then apply all this to my error coin website.

All you business owners out there. If you never heard about SEO, look into it.

Check out my work in progress ......

Good thing that coin buying doesn't require a background check.

Did you take the photos? If so, you have quite an "eye." Have you ever entered a contest or is that a stupid question because all but me already know you are a famous photographer!

You need one of those thingies for passion; OCD just takes money. ;)

    Great pictures.

My wife says I'm OCD about golf and Shibas and that's fine by me.

    Hmmmm.....

"Serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SRI) in the 1980s represented important advances in the pharmacologic treatment of OCD. Despite effective treatment modalities, many patients demonstrate only a partial response or are resistant to available medications. SRI-resistant OCD is one of the few diagnoses in modern psychiatry for which invasive neurosurgical procedures remain part of the established treatment armamentarium."

So, should I set up a surgery at the next ANA Coin show and offer walk-in neurosurgery? Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) is covered by Medicare and it seems that most collectors are age-eligible.

Just to set the record straight, it's CDO (Compulsive Disease, Obsessive) so that the letters are properly alphabetized.

Good luck with the SEO project. Just to really depress you, every couple of years the search engines figure out how people are gaming them and re-write the rules to penalize people gaming the rankings.

Amazing photography and beautiful shots on your site!
Your "about me" page drove me a little crazy as it sounds like you are talking about yourself in third person.

I'm OK.....as long as everything is where it is SUPPOSED to be!

Thank you VERY much for the criticism as I rarely get it, I wrote that last week and will re-look at it later. This a complete website redo and I am going thru every piece of information.

What is taking longer than expected is that fact that I am so anal, that when I see one of my photos that is a little off compared to my other work, I then go in and tweak the image in Photoshopping. I am doing this to about half my photos increasing my workload tremendously.

Yes I realize this but, It certainly can't hurt to have a personal story tied to each photograph. I can later use that same or modified story to place on instagram, Facebook, etc.

    ..........

What has ALWAYS bothered me about internet searches and I wish (or maybe they are) google would address this, is that fact that young gun computer techie (with mundane photos) can more than likely get ranked much higher than I just because he knows technology.

It wish google would rank by QUALITY of the images on the net. I know it is subjective but, shouldn't google find my photos over lesser images.

You should've capitalized all the words in the title that have 4 or more letters.

I am on my website (forgot about it here) but .....

I was told to capitalize the first lettering in every word in the title, headline, keyword, but use lower case for the cation / story text.

Do you know if it matters?

I disagree (but I won't give you one :) ). Of course the rules will change and I will NOT do it all over for at least a couple of years ....

What It did make me do is, write story captions, fix my horrendous key wording, fill in all the right SEO boxes (for now), tweak images, fix the order of my images, and consider dumping lots of similar / mundane images.

Once this is all done off to social media. The stories, new site, links, etc, will all help in going forward ... always open to suggestions, any?

don't trouble about disagreeing , bill will be along any minute :D

I did all that SEO garbage at the advice of an ebay rep and it worked great for about 6 months , until ebay blew it all out of the water with their endless search crapification.

Ebay are just idiots though , google will do you on purpose.

I'm OCD as well...I know most people would say it's something wrong with me but to be honest, I love having it. Most of the time. I notice most collectors have it to some degree.

I actually turned google searching off for my photography website. Too many times I found people claiming my work as their own...even with my watermark present. I get a couple thousand views a day on average anyway, but a lot of that is views of my various collections as I've photographed or scanned a lot of stuff, still an ongoing project. I've got over 400,000 images on my website. I've maintained it since 2004.
