Quick Coin Show Haul..GTGT
Took a super quick detour to the local show yesterday...talked to the 5 or so dealers there that I usually enjoy chatting with, sold nothing since I wasn't in the mood for that song and dance and got the hello out of there in about an hour and a half...:)
Spent my exact pre-determined budget..so now it's time to play the fun new game of guess the grand total...including the entrance fee but not the 2 hours of lost wages that I gave up by leaving work early..;)

I have no idea and will not hazard a guess on such an eclectic assortment of coins...I do, however, detect a pattern in your collecting - minus the Booker T. coin, all are modified in some manner. Is your collection random or is there a goal in mind? Cheers, RickO
I'll guess 55$, sounds like a fun way to spend a couple of hours of an afternoon.
When I started collecting baseball cards in the 1990's I used to like doing the Friday shows, but they were generally more expensive ($15). There was usually better stuff and less people because of the expense to get in. I have not done a Friday coin show yet so I don't know if they are more expensive to get in than the weekend shows, but I will assume they are and guess your total including admission was $47.

Ive had a 7070 going for many years that is comprised of all manner of altered, bogus or just plain cool stuff.
. Some better incuse large cent counter stamps. A beautifully engraved seated dollar...or bettet yet a chopped Seated dollar !!
There are already some great coins in there...but i am now zeroing in on a few of the key pieces that ive yet to aquire...
The set will need..an opium dollar, potty dollar, large cent pie crimper, a few hobo nicks...probably a houks panacea would be nice
You get the idea
Definitely fun!

Returning to the hobby with a completely different focus (and budget)
As to the guesses so far, thats a chop mark on the seated half
@jayPem....Cool idea...best of luck with your project.... Cheers, RickO
Cool coins...I think you may have had to pay up for a couple...maybe not though..$86
Looks like the guesses are in...
Straight up 100 bucks...$1 to get in the door.
Not Big News by forum standards I know, but I was mildly stoked and still got to spend a solid 10 hours outdoors getting some fresh air and sunshine
BTW.. Ive sold a decent number of these chopped halves in the bst and ebay over the years...they can fetch a few bucks. Two on ebay right now for rather a bit too much imho...but free to look at
Cool stuff. The more I see things like that in here the more I'm starting to like them.
I almost got it. I was going to say 5 bucks at the door and an even hundred.

Very cool! I'm assuming the chopped half is a San Francisco piece? Also, a chopped Seated Dollar is a tall order, they are quite rare; but we managed to have two on the Boards at the same time a few months back.
The S mint and date along with the course, lumpy look on the backside of the chop all add up to convince me that it's likely legit
Not an actual Chinese character, but we've all seen plenty of these oval chops before...
Looks good to me. Not going to win any contests in the net grade department, but it seems authentic from the images. Nice pickup.
True that..rather lowgrade to be sure
Forum member Evillageprowler has a truly stunning high grade chopped half.
Love to see that one again!
I couldn't if I tried.
