Nice pictures. These old nickels are worth a little more then a nickel but not too much maybe a few pennies. Great pictures. Some collectors might pay more then face. Here is example of condition of one that could bring up to 38.00.
    Keep looking.

You have a 1938 nickel in AU condition. That is an outstanding roll (or change) find but it is only worth about a quarter.

It's a coin that has no real value above face value. The costs involved with trying to sell it for a premium over face would be higher than any amount realized.

There was a time when coins like this actually had a market but the market for circulated Jefferson nickels effectively died when the early 1960s coin boom died. They have never recovered.

    All glory is fleeting.

Not worth much, but really neat for a circulation find, if that's how you got it.

@Coinloin ..... Welcome aboard..... Great pictures.... sorry, that coin is not worth any premium.... It is an 80 year old nickel in circulated condition.... interesting change find, but not of numismatic value. Cheers, RickO

Rarity is the key. Just because a coin is "old" does not give it extra value. Nice of you to post it, though.

A good album filler , for a nickel. If you can fill a whole set that all had this look, it may not be that valueable....but it could be treasured.

It seems to be a nice solid coin with no damage, so if I found it I would keep it.

Sometimes an old coin with honest wear and no damage is a fun find, and not as common as you might think (but still not worth much).

Wow! 80 years old change find! Cant imagine finding an 80 y.o. coin in 1975 (when I first started coin collecting) and still worth face value...

Think this coin still worth fv come 2038?
