Post a picture of your favorite coin with an image of an EAGLE on it! Coins with any Patriots on them - - like the Mass State Q - - need not apply!! ;) (c'mon, guys... haven't you won ENOUGH Lombardi trophies already that you can't let us have just this one?!)

    **Well wait until TONIGHT!!! **

Eagles have a trick play set up, where Cox sacks Gronk and Brady together, re-opening Brady's wound and re-concussing Gronk at the same time - - I drew it up myself!

Pats are gonna wish they didn't trade Jimmy G. to San Fran before the night's over!!!!!

As a Case Keenum/Vike fan, I have no stake in this SB and probably won't even watch. Instead, I am making a steak pizza and watching a movie with a nice bottle of Oregon pinot noir. But for good luck here are two below with my score prediction - 24-21, the Eagle has landed........

I was kinda hoping the Vikes would put Bradford on the field towards the end of the game .... just for old-time's sake.

Thanks for a Vikes fan (wow, you guys really ARE nice/polite!) for being the first to post in support of the Eagles! :)

I'm not am eagles fan but I do hope they win. I'm really grossed out now with the NFL, the cheaters, etc. Wrestling is fake but at least they admit it.

wait....... wrestling is FAKE?!!! :o If that sport were a coin, would it need to have "COUNTERFEIT" stamped across the forehead of every wrestler (and Vince McMahon)? ;)

Nope not a supporter of the Eagles, especially after the way some of the fans behaved towards Vikes fans (and Vike players spouses) at the NFC championship game, but hoping the Brady era finally ends as to anyone except New Englanders, this is getting old, routine, and boring. Not a Vikes fan either, a Keenum fan, and acknowledge the brilliant game plan the Eagles had in the game and hope they can keep it up for this one. I also don't like how the refs have had clear bias in favor of the Patriots now for years.........

Looking forward to Puppy Bowl XIV on Animal Planet this afternoon - have no interest in watching a bunch of anti-American kneelers this evening. Back in 1970, I voted against Roger Goodell's father for U. S. Senator from New York - turned out to be a very wise decision.

Don't get too excited yet. If you ever to the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, there is a room full of rival Professional Football Leagues that failed. Maybe the XFL will get a foothold if Vince McMann can put some pro wresling style showmanship in the game, but it won't be easy.

Back in 1970, I voted against Roger Goodell's father for U. S. Senator from New York - turned out to be a very wise decision.

I didn't realize that Charles Goodell was Roger Goodell's father. I am no fan of Roger.

That was interesting Senate race. Republican Charles Goodell was a liberal Republcian who had been appointed to the seat. He ran against Democrat Richard Ottinger and Jame Buckley, who was William F. Buckley's brother. Buckley won because of the split vote between the major party candidates.

We're fortunate to live during the heyday of the greatest quarterback of all time. One may wish for his fall, but a measure of greatness is his defiance of defeat.

I'm agnostic about the teams themselves (I'm a suffering Redskins fan), but watch Brady do the impossible again in the 4th quarter, as he cements his shrine at Canton.

These guys need to get it through their heads that taking knee is not effective on any level. They are not changing anyone's minds, which is supposed to be the reason for protesting.

At the same time they are hurting the financial underpinnings of the game. When their actions decrease the revenue stream to the owners, there is less money to pay them in the future, and there is less money for the young players who are coming into the league. To use a cliché, they are killing the goose that has laid the golden eggs for them. They are hurting themselves and the people who will come after them, and they are doing nothing to fix whatever problems they are protesting.

Not to turn this into anything other than a debate between Pats & Iggles fans, but to me, whether I agree or disagree with their position, they (and other protesters) are exercising their right to free speech, which is what makes our country great & what our nation/soldiers have fought many wars to preserve.

Unfortunately, it has been turned into a political "football" and twisted to fit various parties' objectives.

Whether one agrees or disagrees with that political stance, a specific commercial, the halftime performance, the cheerleaders' outfits, the toppings the stadium offers on their fries, the play-calling, the refs' calls/favoritism, or the fact that lines for the ladies' rooms are always longer than those for the mens' rooms, we all have the right to watch, turn away from or turn off, etc, the TV. Or - - like thousands of other fans who are somehow not also being dis-respectful - - talk/text/selfie on your phone, go to the restroom, go to the concession stands, fail to remove your hat or hold your hand over your heart, etc. One can't have it both ways.

That said, lets's all enjoy the game! :-)

(added: By the way, I don't those taking a knee are really hurting the NFL's revenue-stream, nor are they doing it on behalf of their fellow-players & thereby "killing the golden goose". They are doing it for people they feel have been disenfranchised and have no other high-visibility platform from which to peacefully reach such a large audience, and will never see any piece of the NFL's gravy-train.)

Here is a bit more luck to finally rid ourselves of the boredom of yet another Pats SB victory (nothing personal Pats fans but dynasties are boring). Plus Nick Foles winning the SB makes a great story and really messes with Philly - how will they deal with both Wentz and Foles when they both have earned the start next year? Greenest coin I (used to) own and best wishes to the Eagles.

I think for Foles (who was ready to quit not too long ago), going out on a high such as winning the SB would be the "ultimate experience", and a great time to retire & go into the Ministry, as he wants to. He knows that Wentz is (hopefully) the future of the Eagles, and would either accept a back-up role - - knowing he could be asked to step in at any time - - or use the timing to get a job as a starter for another team (if the right trade could be worked out). And I'm sure after all the money & effort expended on Wentz, he will be given back the starting job as soon as he's healthy..... But such riches are what Eagles dreams are made of!!

They have my attention, for all the wrong reasons. This is total disrespect for those who have died for this great country we live in. I have an uncle, a pilot, that was shot down outta the sky above Vietnam and died. So I have a serious problem with this so called protest. It’s despecable and discussing. So they have a right to do this and it’s just OKAY with the NFL? I think the owners need to grow a set and fire the SOB’s . Why? Because it’s so damn wrong!

Problem is, the protesters have never done this to disrespect anyone in the military - - that's just a slant one particular set of people have shaded it with. They are kneeling to protest how people are being mistreated in our country. They are protesting that the country, whose valiant citizens such as your Uncle fought to preserve, seems to have turned a blind eye to the problem. Rather than sweeping it under the rug, they are bringing it to people's attention - - even if it means exposing the ugliness and making people feel uncomfortable for a brief moment. The people who one should be disgusted with are those who have worked so hard to mis-represent their cause.

I’m sorry but this protest IS against the flag and our country . Why don’t they do this so called protest on their own time? They have the money, right? They take their knee during the National anthem and not any other time. It ‘s pure BS. They are straight up jerks in my book. I could use other names but I can’t do that on this forum. Disgusting human beings.
Yes people died so they can do this and THAT’S exactly why it make me so sick. It WRONG and there’s nothing that can be said to change my mind or soft peddle what’s really going on here.

I appreciate your position, and am not sure I wouldn't feel similarly if it were a member of my family who died in a war protecting their right to protest. And I know neither of us will likely ever manage to change the others' perspective.

But at the same time, WHERE has any one of the protesters said they are protesting our flag or country itself? Or those who fought for it? The National Anthem is just the perfect mass-audience/platform for them, which is why they do it then. They don't interrupt the half-time show, any of the actual game on the field (could you imagine if everyone suddenly took a knee in the middle of a critical play?), etc. They do it at a time when many others are not even paying attention to the Anthem (more are doing it now just to see if anyone is going to take a knee), and are in the bathroom, making themselves a snack, on the phone, etc.

And they DO protest on their "own time" as well as with their own money.... i.e. the "walk the walk". There are many documented cases among the players (several high-profile ones who are out there today - - Long & Jenkins, to name just 2) where they have devoted both time & money towards efforts at helping those that have been dis-enfranchised. Have you read the GQ article re: Kaepernick? Anything about Chris Long or Jenkins' efforts/commitment? Others?

One can choose to sweep our problems under the rug, bring them out in broad daylight (or under the bleacher lights) for all to see/confront, or anywhere in-between. Neither you nor I might agree with each & every protest or their points of view, but without at least seeing each side and opening dialogues, what progress can be made?

So that's it from me. Sorry if this thread has deviated from its original light-hearted intent, but, at the same time, if it has & has offended anyone, we each still have the luxury of deciding whether or not to keep reading/responding to it............ :-) But I will stop now & get back to just the game & coins themselves again.

Wrong platform. Using the flag and our anthem I’ll never agree with. Sorry but I take it the wrong way. Honestly I think some, if not all, of those players don’t even know what their protesting about. I see it for what it is. Disgraceful.

You are taking their reason for protest out of context. They are protesting police brutality towards african americans. Nothing more. They have come out time and again and clearly stated this, and the reason you state above is nothing to do with their protest. I stand for freedom of speech which this is for a specific reason. Is it largely ineffective? Absolutely, as most/all protests are against the government. But if we don't have this freedom, what is next? Again, nothing whatsoever to do with military - my family has had a number of folks that have served, and I recognize that their protest is not dissing that service.

Congrats to the Eagles and their fans!
