  I think it looks like it may have been toned at one time, then lightly treated with MS70.

  It's an attractive well struck coin. Nice pickup!

  Yea looks like it was dipped. If the scratch in front of the nose is on the coin instead of the slab, that might be why its 65. Looks like you're having fun acquiring lots of quarters.

  My initial reaction is that the coin was not dipped, but rather simply toned in an incomplete and odd fashion. I like it.

  Right by the year and on the reverse through the word states the color looks subdued compared to the rest of the toning. Could be the photo. Overall it is a nice quarter.
