Do you gaze in wonder at everything you get? Time and time again, endlessly?

I look at them when I get them and then put them away for a long time.

    I don't think it's private but that's o.k.

I examine and look at my FAVORITES, but not ALL my coins.

Well, it's obvious that I suck at making the poll private.

    Grrr

I don't see "I look and examine the coin when I get it, put it away, then look at it again when I get another for the set and examine the whole set once again."

This is a neat question. I always wonder if what I do is common or if I’m weird about it.

I do feel like I have a photographic memory though, and when I get them out it’s usualy the way I remember them other than they look tiny and details much smaller than in my mind.

I examine EVERY coin..at length... I own for as long as I own it.

I've only got a handful of coins right now so I look at them all the time.

This has changed for me with the advent of digital photography. I have high resolution images of any coin I have worth anything, so I look at those more than the actual coins when organizing my sets/want lists, etc. When I was younger, I was much more hands on with the actual coins and, later, slabs.

Not private! O.k. then...I'll stand in front of God and Country and say I some times think I will wear them out looking at them too much. Take care...

I wrote a very long post as a response. Then I deleted it. Boring.
Make it simple. I never get tired of my coins. Big money, little money, I don't care. They give me enjoyment. FOREVER! The only thing better......the 10 beautiful little Hydrants.

I don't but really should look at all of them more.

This is actually something I've been thinking about quite a lot lately. So much energy is put into acquiring new, that what's already there is not as well appreciated as it should be. I was just thinking about that as it's now been 6 years since I've seen some of my collections that I'm currently documenting, and what used to be my main hobby, it's been 10 years as of this month.

they are all photo documented so I can see my collections at any time...but even then I don't appreciate the scans/photos as much as I should, as I'm constantly at work documenting my various collections, I rarely take the time to actually look at my scans...though I do peruse the excel files listing my collection more often.

This even holds true for a hobby that I actually create, not just collect. (I'm a model builder). I'm constantly fighting with the next build and almost never take the time to reflect on past successes.

I need to work on appreciating more than just adding/documenting.

I normally give my coins a very thorough examination, especially if they are TrueViewed, on a regular basis.

I enjoy my coins and look at them frequently. Often, it is something posted here that makes me get out some of them from the safe or cabinet. My box of mint/proof sets does not get much attention.... but gold and silver are often visited. Some I keep handy (such as a gold $5 Indian) for companionship. ;) Cheers, RickO

The nicest ones go under my pillow in hopes of the "Coin Bunny" will double it. The bad ones go back to the 7-11 parking lot.

I like this poll I get to see my little dog Izzy!

The other day I was wondering where I put my Palladium coins. I could not find them but I knew I did not toss them and eventually figured out they were put into a folder type display along many other prized coins. I then realized Ohhh Yea thats right thats what I did with them and calmed down and slowly closed the safe while Izzy watched me. I think she felt better too.

It’s difficult for me to look at my coins when they’re sitting in a SDB.

I have pretty good photos of all my slabbed stuff. Quicker and more frequent access than digging them out of the safe or going to the banks SDB. Great for "show and tell" anywhere.

I am a FAN of the aforementioned Collective Coin site.
It's one of the first things I do when I record a newp.

Pix, private notes, constantly rearrangeable..... Great site. Sad to see it not fully utilized as it COULD be ...THE... place to sell coins.
